about
Daniel Davis suggested i open a book at random as inspiration for a song title, something i had never thought to do before.
Opening "Kafka On The Shore" at a random page gave me the song title "In All Things There Is A Proper Order", and an hour or so later, this song emerged, blinking and bleary, into the world.
lyrics
It's not what i say that matters
It's just what i do that counts
And if it's my heart that flatters
It's my mind that'll hold you to account
In all things there is a proper order
Will you measure up or let me down again?
I didn't think you had it in you
And you proved me wrong for a while
But before long you showed me
You had less substance than style
In everything there is a proper order
But i didn;t order chaos and pain
Now that our lives hang in the balance
Will you measure up or let me down again?
Weigh up your priorities
Can you make the grade?
Are you happy here with me
Or would you like to trade?
But in the end it's all opinion
I couldn;t leave you if i tried
For though in all things there's a proper order
True love can never be denied
